German Victory in Efoil on Sylt!

On Friday, the professionals competed in the finals of the newly initiated E-Foil Race competition. After the preliminary heats were already held yesterday, today was about the very first title of the new discipline as part of the Defender GKA Kite-Surf World Cup Sylt. On the special surfboards, which are powered by electric motors, the professionals glided across the sea at high speed at Brandenburger Beach. Over 20 participants in the World Cup had registered to be part of the new competition. The winner of the men’s competition is the eight-time German champion in Kite-Surfing Linus Erdmann. The 26-year-old prevailed against the Frenchman Theo Demanez in a sensational final and receives a prize money of €1,000. Erdmann was pleased about the premiere victory: “It was a lot of fun and I am very happy to be able to secure the title in the new trend sport Efoil.”

The multiple German champion Erdmann will also be one of the great hopes for the German team in the main competition of the World Cup. His competition here includes the current number 1 in the world Matchu Lopes or Sylt winner and world champion Airton Cozzolino. The Kite-Surfing competition is expected to take place on Saturday.
