Press Release

August 20, 2021

The world’s best kitesurfers enjoyed their first day of rest at the Land Rover Kitesurf World Cup Sylt on Friday. The wind was too light to hold another Supersession. However, the athletes weren’t idle; they were busy signing autographs for fans on Brandenburg Beach. Airton Cozzolino, the current World Champion and winner of the Best Trick Contest, ventured out onto the North Sea. The 27-year-old from Cape Verde demonstrated with his foiling that even a slight breeze is enough to glide across the water with a kite or wing. Visitors enjoyed a mild day at the event grounds, checking out the latest kitesurfing gear, participating in giveaways, and grabbing refreshments at the food and drink stands. The Land Rover Kitesurf World Cup Sylt continues until Sunday and concludes with the official awards ceremony.
